Beatrice Scarf w/ a Geryon Needle-Felted Creature
A 63 by 6.5 inch scarf made by John in late June, 2021, with Sirdar Haworth tweeds (a merino/acrylic blend). First time trying out a lace pattern so took a bit longer than it should have, likely 8 hours? We don’t love it to be honest, so we are including a bonus needle-felted creature made by John with roving and Icelandic wool and a tiny bell. That took maybe an hour to make.
The scarf is named after Beatrice and the felted creature is named after Geryon, the monster that transports Virgil and Dante from the 7th to 8th circle of hell. Both from Dante Aligheri's "Inferno."
Comes with a Virtute cat toy made of scrap yarn, cotton string, and a tiny bell.
One of a kind, one hundred Canadian dollars.
